The Perfect Dinner For A Balmy Evening

I have fond memories of Tapavino, my go-to place for nibbles and wine. Don’t expect a slow dinner; this place pumps out diners like a machine! V and I got there at 7pm and had to be out by 8:15pm, and the waitstaff did hand us the bill a bit earlier, but it was all worth it because the food and drink was spectacular. You could always head off to Opera Bar, like we did, on a balmy evening to continue your conversation.

We usually go for red sangria with Spanish food so this time we tried the white one and it was fabulous! Deliciously peachy and not overly sweet.
I always make sure we get the glossy olives and pan con tomato & garlic to start. They do serve good bread!
I thought I took a better photo of the jamón and picos but the only one I have is blurry. It’s a nice portion of ham with breadsticks that double as wands! Anyway, our spread was not complete without some seafood. We had the half-shell seared Queensland scallops, morcilla, & chilli – they were soft and flavoursome, but not as spicy as we would have preferred.
This salad of shaved cabbage, manchego, bread crumbs, lemon, mint, & balsamico dressing sounded rather interesting so of course we had to give it a go. It was a textural dream and so refreshing to eat between mouthfuls of ham.
My beautiful friend! It’s crazy to think how we were close in primary school and didn’t see each other during high school, but ended up studying the same thing at the same university, and have similar thoughts on life. I am lucky to be friends with a few seriously amazing girls.
Tried my best to look normal.
