For the love of breakfast

Marinated fetta with avocado on fresh bread is one of the simplest pleasures in life. Topped with a little lemon juice and pepper, it makes for one filling breakfast!
I like to have mine with some green tea to start the morning.
Or I might make a fuss-free, two ingredient smoothie featuring frozen berries and low-fat milk. I’ve experimented with full cream milk as well but prefer my fruit drinks to taste less creamy.
One of my favourite hot breakfasts is a thick berry porridge with stone fruit or figs.
I whipped up banana pancakes from scratch on Wednesday for afternoon tea and they weren’t too bad, although their presentation would suggest otherwise. It’s such a great way to use up the ripe fruit! I took Nigella’s recipe and halved the ingredients for two people, and added two smashed bananas to the wet mixture.

Lunch at a garden cafe for Chinese New Year, how traditional. Then again, we had xiao long bao and fried buns on Saturday so I guess that makes up for it!

XO Lauren
