I had a superb albeit windy night out with H yesterday, starting off with 6pm drinks. After chatting about everything over a Gin and Tonic/Rosé, we thought about our food plans and decided to make a trip to our second home for more fun.
After some commuting, we walked to Victoria St where Mad Pizza was…
And because no Mad Pizza experience is complete without a delicious cocktail or a whole jug, we went for the Sexy Sicilian – grapefruit Absolut, grapefruit fizz, lime and rosemary. A very interesting and refreshing concoction which is fantastic if you’re partial to some herbs in your drink.
As H is not big on her meats, we went for the Quattro pizza which was surprisingly moreish! Who am I kidding, it’s Mad Pizza… This one had four cheeses (fetta, bocconcini, parmesan, ricotta), spinach leaves, pine nuts and truffle oil and I’m sure it will satisfy any non-vegetarian friends of yours.
At this point, we felt like a snack and some red (Round 2 Merlot, 2011) to wind down the night so we opted for oliveto (Sicilian, kalamata, Ligurian) flavoured with fennel seeds, orange peel, cinnamon and garlic.
Cheers to the staff who made our dinner even better by playing Chet Faker’s tunes and for being attentive throughout our meal!
