There is no better way to end the week than to catch up with a good friend over a delicious cocktail, out on a rooftop bar by the name of Kuleto’s. A stunning ombré sunset is just a bonus. S and I decided to get a Thai Iced Tea each, and from memory it consisted of white spirits, cranberry juice and lychee liqueur. You could consider it as the younger sister of the Long Island Iced Tea. Luckily, Thursday evening was not too chilly so we headed upstairs into the open and spent some time making fun foodie plans for the future, among other things.
An hour later, we went over to my beloved Mad Pizza nearby and had dinner. I tried a slice of the Trota pizza with smoked ocean trout and it was admittedly very good! Who would’ve expected fish on a pizza? I had a big glass of sangiovese and tried one of their tantalising pastas – carnevino, thick pappardelle pasta tossed with pork & fennel sausage in a tomato & porcini mushroom ragout. While the serving size is a bit on the smaller size for the price, it was absolutely moreish and I was very happy with my pick! We were also served by the most energetic waiter, and he made our night even more fun.
Disappointed by the recent closing of our favourite frozen yoghurt joint across the road, we commuted back to the CBD for our Yogurtland fix.
Hope you have a good (food) week!
