Staying on track

sport

I’m a growing fan of adding track-inspired pieces into outfits except the whole wedge sneaker business. I absolutely hate it – this hybrid of a shoe is a sartorial disaster in my opinion, or perhaps it’s the imitation Isabel Marants that just don’t cut it. I’ve seen some unfortunate girls in the city wearing their wedge sneakers with jeans and a top, and I’m sure they feel great but the girls with Chucks always look better.

Anyway, what I like about the sportswear trend is that it’s comfortable and accessible. But be careful, instead of being remembered as the girl who perpetually looks like she comes from the gym (when you would rather spend that time online shopping), mix it up with leather accents or even chiffon to make it appropriate for the day time. I’d pair a sweatshirt with a faux leather skirt for an easy style and then amp it up with silky fabrics and patent pumps for a night out.

By focusing on the details, you can definitely take a sweatshirt and Nikes to almost any place, so have fun and think outside the box!
